Consort Christmas

Join us next Christmas by the fire for Consort Christmas – 90 minutes of seasonal music by the Oregon Renaissance Band Trio on Zoom: 2022 tba

Attend one or both! The session is free, but we wouldn’t refuse a small donation to the Early Music Guild of Oregon (the nonprofit that sponsors Consort Class Online and Oregon Renaissance Band performances.)  To register: let us know by email at that you would like to attend the session, and if you want to make a donation, you can either make it through PayPal here on the EMGO website, or mail a check (payable to “EMGO”) to EMGO, 17850 S. Edgewood Street, Oregon City, OR 97045.

We will send you the music as pdfs if you would like to play along.  The repertoire will include the 1818 original version of “Silent Night”, settings by Michael Praetorius of “Es ist ein Ros entsprungen”, “Joseph lieber” and “In dulci jubilo”, as well as Arbeau’s “Branle de l’Official” (Ding Dong Merrily on High), “I Saw Three Ships”, Monk’s 1861 version of “Hark! the Herald-Angels Sing”, a jazz version of “God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen”, “Joy to the World”, “Ther is no rose of swych virtu”, “Sussex Carol”, “Gloucestershire Wassail” and many more.  Your performer-hosts will be Gayle Neuman, Laura Kuhlman, and Phil Neuman, who will be singing, playing a variety of instruments, imparting information about the music and spreading holiday cheer.

We look forward to seeing you!
